Rep. Alicea to Speak at First Annual 65th Puerto Rican Infantry Regiment Ceremony

BOSTON-This Saturday, June 20th, Representative Geraldo Alicea (D-Charlton) will serve as a guest speaker at the first formal commemoration ceremony honoring the Army’s 65th Infantry Regiment, a Puerto Rican Unit that served the United States in WWI, WWII, and most notably, in the Korean War.

The event represents the first of what is expected to be an annual ceremony to pay tribute to the Puerto Rican-only regiment. Representative Alicea, whose father served in Korean War with the 65th Infantry, will be attending and speaking at the event, along with other noteworthy guests such as the lieutenant governor of Puerto Rico, Kenneth McClintock-Hernandez, Massachusetts Lt. Governor Timothy Murray and Congressman James McGovern.

The event will be held at noon on Saturday, June 20, at the Korean War Memorial on Major Taylor Boulevard. All are welcome and encouraged to attend.
